The local organizing committee and the BACELL steering group are pleased to announce the BACELL 2008 Conference in Oslo, Norway. The mission of the conference is to bring together researchers from the European Bacillus community as well as members from several European consortia that perform fundamental and applied research on Bacillus subtilis and related Gram-positive bacteria. Specifically, these European consortia include BACELL Health, BACELL EuroSCOPE, BACELL SysMo, BaSysBio, Tat machine and StaphDynamics.

The scientific sessions for BACELL 2008 will be held at the Soria Moria Hotel and Conference Centre in the hills surrounding the city of Oslo. Like in previous BACELL meetings, the general BACELL sessions will be open to all colleagues who have registered for BACELL 2008.

In conjunction with BACELL 2008, satellite meetings will be organised for particular European consortia. These satellite meetings will only be open to members of the respective consortia, and have been scheduled as follows:

* Wednesday 26 March / Thursday 27 March: BaSysBio meeting
* Saturday 29 March (afternoon): BaSysMo meeting
